The Authority was formed during the early summer of 2005. It is led by JUAN MIGUEL SALVADOR, an award-winning jingle composer in the Philippines. December 2005 the band won the Global Battle Of The Bands and represent the country in London. The band is comprised of Juan Miguel on Lead vocals and also on the Keyboard, JUN ALICANTE and OMAR KHARIM BOQUIREN on Guitars, JAY AGUSTIN on 2nd Keyboard, CHUCK MENOR on drums and ALVIN SORIANO on the Bass. All six members have their own unique and diverse musical backgrounds and tastes which add to the groups’ distinct sound; one that ranges from the musical styles of Queen, Billy Idol, U2, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Police, Eagles, The Cure, Rolling Stones, etc. The band’s repertoire consists of Classic Pop Rock tunes with a perfect balance of Stunning openers and endings. Covering a wide range of songs from almost 4 decades, the band dishes out stunning renditions from various genre’s such as 80’s Dance (Pop-New Wave), 70’s Dance & Rock Rhythms, 60’s Dance Songs (not just limited to the Beatles), Early 90’s danceable Hits and a couple of Heart-wrenching Ballads.
